How to look after your nails

When you leave my salon your hands will have been transformed.  Not just your nails!  You will feel absolutely fantastic!

Having beautiful, natural looking nails can create the illusion of longer, slimmer fingers, smoother knuckles, less puffiness - an all round younger image!

So to do the best YOU can to look after your LE gel nail enhancements,  I would like to offer you some advice on how to always keep them looking their best.

Although your LE gel nails are amazingly resilient, they are designed to break under extreme pressure.  This occurs so that your natural nails are protected and not injured.  However, by simply altering the way you use your hands and fingers, you can and will eliminate breakage.

For example;

Do's

  • Use a pen or other implement to dial a telephone
  • Use a non-acetone polish remover and wear a base coat at all times
  • Use your knuckles or other implements to push buttons
  • Always apply cuticle oil (recommended QTICA Solid Gold)
  • Wear gloves when washing up or using household chemicals

Dont's

  • Do not use nails as tools, wear them as jewels
  • Do not place harsh cleaners in direct contact with nails (eg. citrus)
  • Do not pick at the LE gel
  • Do not use your fingertips to open car doors or to tuck in beds.  Use the sides of your forefingers instead

Your natural nail will continue to grow normally, creating a gap at the base of the nail, between the LE gel and cuticle.  When this is noticeable you should return to the salon for a refill.  The regrowth area is filled in with more LE gel.  Depending on the rate of growth and the condition of your nail, this should be done every 2-3 weeks.

I offer a free check afterå days.  This is when I will advise you of when you will need to have your refill appointment.  This service can include a file buff and repolish and I suggest that you make this a regular part of your nail care routine between refills.  (An appointment is necessary for this).

As your nails grow, you have the choice of either letting them get longer or having them shortened keeping the original length you had to start off with.  As you get used to your LE gel nails you will find that keeping them a bit longer after each refill won't bother you.

Enjoy your beautifully enhanced nails.  I look forward to attending to your nail care in the future.
